Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Cairo

Cairo arrival and Christmas Dinner

  • Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be greeted by an airport representative, assisted with immigration and customs formalities, then transfer to your hotel in Heliopolis area.

    In the evening enjoy Christmas dinner in Egyptian style with your program director.

Day 2

Cairo to Aswan

Flight to Aswan, Aswan tour and visit Nubian Village

  • This morning, you will be transported to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival in Aswan, we shall visit to the Aswan High Dam, considered the biggest project accomplished in Egypt during the 20th century AD, followed by a visit to the temples of Isis, famously known as the temples of Philae. Isis was one of the most important deities of the ancient Egyptians, for whom a beautiful temple was built in an amazing location on an island in the River Nile. After the tour, we will check in to your 5-star Nile cruise. Lunch and dinner will be served on board the cruise ship.
    After lunch, an optional tour to the Nubian Village. On this tour, we'll be travelling by motorboat to visit the Nubian Village, located on the west bank of the River Nile. Aswan's original population consists of Nubians, who have their own culture and lifestyles. By being hosted in one of their homes for tea, we get a close view of their lives and learn about their traditions, language, and history. Their will be opportunities to visit their school and market as well.

Day 3

Abu Simbel and Komombo

Early morning Abu simbel and sailing to Komombo

  • Early morning tour to Abu Simbel via road. Upon arrival in Abu Simbel, you will be transported to the site of the great temples of Ramses II and his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari. The temples here are a highlight of any tour, with two grand temples carved in the rock of the mountain - a marvel of engineering - and another miracle in their relocation when they needed to be rescued following the construction of the High Dam of Aswan, and the rising waters of Lake Naser that had already started to cover them. After visiting the temples, you will be transported back to Aswan.
    Lunch on board cruise and start cruising towards Komombo. In the late afternoon, we will arrive at Komombo and visit the temple overlooking the River Nile, which was dedicated to two deities: Horus the falcon and Sobek the crocodile. After the visit, we'll return to the cruise and sail to Edfu.

Day 4

Edfu to Luxor

Visiting Edfu temple, and sailing to luxor

  • In the morning, you will witness the most complete and well-preserved temple in Egypt, flanked by beautiful granite statues of the falcon deity Horus. The reliefs that cover the walls, columns, and doorways of this Ptolemaic temple constitute an extremely important source of information about ancient Egyptian religious and political beliefs. Among the most interesting of these reliefs are those that demonstrate the story of Horus's revenge on Seth for the murder of his father, Osiris, an event that was celebrated annually in the temple. Other reliefs recount the stages of the temple's construction and provide dates for the completion of different building elements. After the temple visit, you will return to the cruise for lunch and sailing to Luxor.
    Upon arrival to Luxor (time permitting), we shall visit the sites on the East bank of the River Nile. The Karnak and Luxor Temples are two of the most fascinating historical sites in Egypt. Built over 3,000 years ago, the Karnak Temple is the largest ancient religious site in the world. It was dedicated to the worship of Amun and was the most important temple in ancient Egypt. The temple was built over several centuries by successive pharaohs and was expanded upon by each one, resulting in a complex structure that is awe-inspiring to behold. The Luxor Temple, meanwhile, was constructed around 1,400 BC and is dedicated to Amun’s wife Mut and their son Khonsu. It was used for both religious and political purposes and was also the site of several festivals and ceremonies.

Day 5

Luxor to Hurghada

Valley of the Kings and travel to hurghada

  • Early morning optional Hot Air Balloon flight over Luxor West Bank, followed by check out from cruise, and tour the famous sites on the West bank of the River Nile. The Valley of the Kings is a magnificent site located on the west bank of the Nile River in Luxor, Egypt. This valley is home to the tombs of many pharaohs and their families, including the famous Tutankhamun. The Valley was the royal burial ground for ancient Egyptian pharaohs from the 18th to the 20th dynasties. The pharaohs were buried in elaborate tombs that were filled with treasures and artifacts to accompany them to the afterlife. The tombs are decorated with beautiful wall paintings and hieroglyphics that tell the story of the pharaoh's life and their journey to the afterlife. The site is vast, and you can easily spend an entire day exploring the tombs and admiring the beautiful ancient art. The area is surrounded by breathtaking desert landscapes, making it a truly awe-inspiring sight. The Valley of the Kings is a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship and artistic skill of the ancient Egyptians. The Temple of Queen Hatchepsut is one of the most impressive architectural wonders of ancient Egypt. This temple was built in honor of one of the most powerful female pharaohs of ancient Egypt. Hatchepsut was known for her ambitious building projects and her successful military campaigns. The temple was designed to reflect her power and status. The Colossi of Memnon are two massive statues that have been standing in the Theban Necropolis for over 3,000 years. The statues were created to guard the entrance to the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III, a pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. Each statue is made from a single piece of sandstone and stands at 60 feet tall. The statues were once known for the strange sounds they made at sunrise, which were believed to be the voice of Memnon. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
    Afternoon travel by coach to Hurghada (approx.. 4.5 hours), and check in to Continental Resort Hurghada, your 5-star beachfront resort or similar.

Hurghada

  • Morning breakfast at hotel

Hurghada

Day 8

Hurghada to Cairo

Flight to Cairo, Egyptian museum and Bazaar

  • Today is the time to say goodbye to Hurghada. After breakfast, check out and be transported to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, we shall have lunch, then visit the Egyptian museum of Antiquities where we could see the treasures of King Tut. After visiting the museum visit Khan Elkhalili Bazaar, then check in to our 5-star hotel in Cairo.

Day 9

Giza Pyramids

Visit Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Old Cairo

  • Embark on an unforgettable journey with our Pyramids and Sphinx tour. Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel before exploring the iconic Giza Pyramids and Sphinx. Indulge in a scrumptious lunch at a local restaurant, before visiting The mosques of Sultan Hasan & Alrefaey, then head to Old Cairo to visit the oldest churches and synagogue in Egypt. Retire for the night at our comfortable hotel, ready to continue your adventure the next day.

Day 10

Alexandria

Visit Alexandria Catacombs and bibliotheca alexandria

  • Enjoy a day in Alexandria, a 3 hours drive from Cairo will get us to Alexandria. Our first visit will be the Greco-Roman Catacombs, before heading to visit the Alexandria Library. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. In the afternoon a photo stop by the Citadel of Qaitbay and the Western Harbour side will conclude our visit before driving back to Cairo.
